Position Description **Tracker Intern (Summer 2019)** Location **Simi Valley, CA** Employment type **Intern/Supplemental** ID **312** We are currently seeking a **Tracker Intern (Summer 2019)** to join our **TMS (Tactical Missile Systems)** team. You will have assignments on development programs for real products. As part of a team designing design modifications to state of the art flight hardware/software systems, your AeroVironment internship will challenge you, stimulate you and provide you with real-world experience at one of America?s most innovative and creative tech companies. You will support algorithm design, code, and test of software used to control unmanned vehicles. You will have access to robotic systems to perform functional improvements and testing. You will present at and participate in design and code reviews. **Job Duties and Responsibilities** + Demonstrated knowledge of Software Engineering principles in a technical discipline + Demonstrated skills in Software Engineering design tasks and proficiency with design tools + Demonstrated knowledge of C++, C# + Demonstrated knowledge of the use of common Software development tools **Required Qualifications & Background** + Junior, Senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Engineering + Knowledge of OpenGL, OpenCV, graphics, and video processing a strong plus. + Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties + Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives + Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products + Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance the performance of oneself, others, and the company + Can work independently with minimal supervision + Responsible for completing assigned tasks within project schedule and budget + Good written and verbal communication skills and able to clearly communicate with a diversified audience + Able to articulate concepts and ideas to technical staff + Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others across disciplines + Good presentation skills for internal reviews + Capable of researching and re-engineering to propose alternative solutions to complex issues + Able to develop engineering equations to solve problems, and clearly articulate assumptions, boundary conditions, inputs, and outputs when using design tools + Able to make complex design decisions to meet the stated requirement **ITAR Requirement:** **This position requires the use of information which is subject to compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR).
