theProgram:Family Based Services: Our team utilizes a wraparound
approach in delivering services. This strength-based method focuses
on building upon the strengths of individuals and families to help
them achieve positive goals and improve overall well-being. The
wraparound model is a collaborative, multidisciplinary method that
creates a comprehensive, individualized care plan tailored to each
client's unique needs.Role Summary:As a Parent Partner, your lived
experience and understanding of the challenges faced by families
will be invaluable. You will play a crucial role in helping
families feel supported, understood, and empowered to reach their
goal.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30AM - 07:00 PM; Friday 9:30AM -
06:00 PM and alternating Friday OFF
- Location:Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize personal and professional life experience to provide
support to parent and caregivers served by the program
- Access community-based resources appropriate to the family's
needs
- Interface with agencies such as the Department of Children and
Family Services (DCFS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), court
systems, schools, health care providers, and other community
liaisons
- Attend meetings for each assigned case
- Assist families with developing a needs/strengths
assessment
- Provide support and advocacy
- Transport families to appointments relevant to their
treatment
- Attend trainings for and demonstrate an understanding of how
trauma and mental health conditions impact a caregiver's ability to
manage
- Understand that trauma impacts individuals in many ways
- Provide 24-hour availability and crisis intervention on an
as-needed basis, including nights and weekends
- Conduct visits to homes or other service providers to help
program participants achieve their goals
- Facilitate a parenting support group and collaborate with team
members regarding its implementation and promote participation from
program participants
- Provide parenting education to parents
- Maintain weekly service provision requirements
- Participate in administrative and clinical supervision and
meetingsQualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Recipient of DMH, DCFS or probation and school-based services
preferred.
- Previous case management experience preferred.
- Must posses and maintain a valid CA drivers' license,
automotive liability insurance, and a driving record acceptable to
agency's insurance carriers.
- Must be a parent or legal guardian of a child(ren) who has
previously been involved in LA County DCFS, Probation Department,
Department of Mental Health, or Regional Center
- Cannot have an open DCFS or Probation case within the past
year
- Parent/family partner, peer advocate, and/or parent advocate
experience preferred
- Experience working with high-risk children and families
preferred
- English proficiency required, bilingual Spanish preferredSt.
