We are looking for a dedicated College Advisor (Student Services Professional II) who embodies positivity, ethics, and a commitment to diversity and kindness.Under supervision of the Director of Academic Advising, the College Advisor provides comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate students, supporting their success from matriculation to graduation. The role involves creating a positive university experience, understanding student development, and implementing advising strategies that promote retention, engagement, and degree completion.The advisor will collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic departments, participate in professional development, and utilize campus tools and data to support student success. Responsibilities include developing outreach campaigns, delivering compassionate counseling, maintaining student records, and addressing academic and personal challenges.Essential Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences, public administration, business, or related field.- Two years of professional experience in student services or related areas. A master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.- Knowledge of organizational management, research, interview techniques, and student advising.- Ability to interpret regulations, advise students, and communicate effectively with diverse populations.- Strong analytical, planning, and relationship-building skills.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with university policies, data analysis, and relevant software (e.g., Office365, Navigate, Ellucian).- Ability to analyze complex situations and implement effective solutions.- Commitment to inclusive practices and continuous professional growth.Applicants must pass a background check.
