Job Description:

Floating chemist based primarily at our customer site in Simi Valley -Travel/mileage compensated -Must have 40 hour hazwoper/ relevant haz waste experience -Inspections, prepping shipments, labeling, Packing haz waste on customer sites. -Start time 5-7AM, have to be OK w/ night shift, but average 6AM-2:30PM. -$22-$26 DOE -Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Tasks


-


--- Make waste pickups at labs as needed. -


--- Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications.


--- Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered.


--- Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.


--- Inspect storage area for leaks or spills. -


--- Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations. -


--- Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance. -


--- Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing. -


--- Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork. -


--- Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program. -


--- Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal. -


--- Maintain and manage waste profile data.


--- Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options. -
