Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier's ability to meet engineering and quality requirements. Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.Position ResponsibilitiesPerforms Quality and Process audits at suppliers to ensure quality systems and manufacturing processes are aligned with requirements for procured materialParticipates in drawing reviews to ensure suppliers are provided know-how and understand requirements to assure successful product realizationWorks as a member of team to realize cost reductions, product introductions and quality improvementsConsistently demonstrates knowledge of the use of quality improvements methodology such as SPC, Six Sigma, Poka-yoke, lean manufacturing and is skilled at reading and understanding engineering drawings/specifications and GDParticipates in Product Readiness Reviews (PRR), coordinates Final Inspection (sell-off) activities and functions as primary interface for DCMA/internal auditingDemonstrates concise, clear and effective written & verbal communication skills to a diverse audience, including appropriate and professional interaction with external customersDevelops professional expertise and understanding of Supplier Quality Engineering, while applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issuesWorks on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
