Medical Technologist Location: Bakersfield, CA Agency: Jackson HealthPros Pay: $2,646 to $2,846 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (formerly Medical Technologist) to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states. Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field as required by individual clients. Valid ASCP or AMT certification required. In licensure states, Laboratory Licensure in appropriate specialty for the department or location assignment as applicable to the state. 1 year of experience as a CLS / MLS / Medical Technologist. BLS (AHA) noted; client indicates BLS is not required. Confirm client requirement prior to assignment. Experience with chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and minimal microbiology/serology. Experience with instrument platforms including Abbott Architect, Stago, Gem 500, Beckman Coulter DxH and DxU Iris, BD Bactec Fx, Cepheid, and Biofire. Experience using Cerner Laboratory Information System (LIS). Blood bank experience is not required. Preferred: prior experience in hospital laboratory settings and floating between lab areas. Preferred: experience working 4x10 or 5x8 night schedules. Assignment Details Facility Type: Hospital. Unit: Clinical Laboratory / Lab. Shift Name: Nights. Shift Pattern: Nights, 4x10s (client will consider 8s); notes also reference 5x8 nights in some schedule variations. Orientation Hours: 12 hours. Float Requirement: Candidate may be required to float first to other lab areas as needed. Charting System: Cerner. Required Certification for Role at Client Site: CLS certification. Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (start 04/13/2026 to 07/13/2026). Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week. Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel shifts per assignment policy.
