Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.DescriptionThe Senior Director of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management is responsible for developing and leading policies and programs to ensure regulatory compliance, promote safety culture, and drive continuous improvement. This role oversees strategic planning, performance monitoring, incident management, and training to minimize hazards and ensure environmental sustainability. It holds national responsibility across various business lines including stevedoring, terminal security, and ground services.Key Responsibilities:1. Policy Development & Regulatory Compliance
      • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE & RM policies aligned with OSHA, EPA, and industry regulations.
      • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental laws.
      • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and industry bodies.2. Strategic Planning & Risk Mitigation
        • Define long-term HSE objectives and integrate into business strategy.
        • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
        • Lead the implementation of best practices to foster a safety culture.3. Performance Monitoring & Key Metrics
          • Establish and track KPIs such as LTIFR, Cost per Man Hour, Environmental Compliance Rate, and Near Miss Frequency.
          • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
          • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on strategic actions and achievements.4. Training & Workforce Engagement
            • Lead the Area Safety Lead program to empower teams in executing HSE vision.
            • Design and implement training for employees and leadership on policies, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
            • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning through safety campaigns and initiatives.5. Audit, Review, and Continuous Improvement
              • Lead audits to ensure compliance with standards.
              • Develop corrective actions based on findings and monitor their execution.
              • Champion continuous improvement using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
              • Oversee incident investigations and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.
              • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting.6. Resource Allocation & Budget Management
                • Assess and allocate resources to support HSE goals.
                • Develop and manage budgets for safety and compliance projects.
                • Leverage technology and automation to enhance HSE processes.Qualifications & Skills:
                  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
                  • 10+ years of leadership in HSE, preferably in maritime, manufacturing, construction, or logistics.
                  • Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and relevant regulations.
                  • Proven experience in developing safety and environmental systems.
                  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
                  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are preferred.Success Metrics:
                    • Maintain LTIFR and C/MH below industry benchmarks.
