We are currently seeking a Sr. AeroMechanical Engineer to join our (Tactical - UAS) TUAS team. Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform the role of the aerodynamics and vehicle configuration engineer of small UAVs for both commercial and military applications. Primary duties are focused on trade studies and initial development of a UAV platform. The main aspects of these job duties are as follows: Define the overall OML shape of the vehicle (i.e. airfoil, wing sizing & drag trade-offs) Coordinate with systems engineer to size propulsion system. Working knowledge of brushless DC motors, lithium batteries is a plus. Configure the major weight and space consuming components (i.e. motors, payload and batteries). Define and tabulate the mass properties of the vehicle in various configurations. Design vehicle interfaces. Develop landing & flight loads Experience with rotor heads and actuators is also a plus. Proficiency with SolidWorks, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must. Hands on experience with composite fabrication and 3D printing is highly desirable. Required Qualifications & Background Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 8 years of experience in aerodynamic design and analysis within an engineering organization Proficient at Solidworks. CFD using Ansys Fluent is a highly desirable. Wind tunnel model and test experience is highly desirable. Experience with Solidworks EPDM and Agile PLM is a plus. Other Qualifications and Responsibilities Able to excel in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties. Display a strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives. Can work from high-level program requirements, organize, schedule and delegate tasks to an engineering team. Good written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively with intended audience. Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others across disciplines Good presentation skills for formal reviews both internally and externally.--- Familiarity with UAVs and related engineering design processes highly desirable. Additional Requirement: This position requires you have access to data and technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
