Job Description:
Tool Engineer 2 - El Segundo, CA
12 month contract, to $55/hr
United states citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret
security clearance are required for this position.
Aerospace experience is strongly preferred. In this role you will
design industrial tools, dies, gauges, drill & assembly jigs,
fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for
production or experimental use, considering such factors as
accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements. We
are looking for engineers who have structural analysis background
to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package
for product design, or operation of product to demonstrate
compliance of tooling fixtures. While being the principle
contributor and/or leader of a task, you shall work with
internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the
design meets the customer needs.
Core Competencies:
- Experience with drawing release criteria and related documents
for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness,
clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and
processes; conformity to design/drafting standards (e.g. GD&T),
design specifications, and practicability; and economy of
fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Experience with stress analysis techniques, concepts and
practices
- Experienced in structural analysis methods including NASTRAN
models of metallic and composite structures, as well as hand
analysis.
- Experience with industry standard design tools including NX CAD,
CATIA
- Knowledge of manufacturing, methods & fabrication processes
- Bachelor's degree; STEM concentration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with static & dynamic analysis and tolerance
analysis.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Current active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation
date/periodic review within the last 5 years.
- Professional Engineering License
